The workshop

A room in the house where ideas become objects

The workshop: shelves with filament, 3D printers, a cutting plotter and sheets of cards on the table

The shelves keep colors. The table keeps secrets.

La Fábrica Inventiva began with a game that Jorge, Valeria and Diego invented together, and it ended up filling the shelves with filament.

Who makes it

Every piece is signed

Jorge Uribe Maza designs and makes the pieces together with Valeria and Diego, who invent characters, test the games and record the podcast. Here, the children are not helpers: they are authors.

The house rule: whoever has the idea explains it. Everyone else asks questions.

Jorge Uribe Maza, Valeria and Diego as a family, smiling together on the deck of a boat
“All four in the same photo: this is how the best trips begin.”
Valeria reading in front of the microphone, in soft light
“A soft voice. A big story.”
Diego smiling, with his hands on a steering wheel
“Whoever already knows the ending smiles.”
Valeria and Diego remove the print supports from dozens of figures
“Four hands before any box.”

Four hands

Before it leaves, every figure goes through their hands

The printers leave supports stuck to every piece. Valeria and Diego remove them one by one, with tweezers and patience. If a piece is not right, it does not leave.

Here, fatherhood happens around a table.

What we work with

Machines and craft

3D printers for figures and sculptures. A cutting plotter for paper and vinyl. Laser engraving on wood. Printing for boards and cards. And a cutting table for assembling, gluing and packing by hand.

How a piece is made

Every order wakes up the workshop

Here, pieces take shape one by one. We make everything to order; the time depends on the workshop's workload, and there is no fixed shipping day. Tell us what you imagine, and let's talk before we confirm.

  1. You tell us.
  2. We confirm the total and the shipping.
  3. Your order takes shape in the workshop.
Mika as a kitten, lying on a cushion, with her paws stretched out and her eyes fixed on the camera
“Mika, the day she arrived: she already had the jungle drawn on her.”

Part of the family

Mika

She is a Bengal cat. She has the jungle drawn on her back, and she is part of the family.

In this house, nothing is finished until Mika jumps up on the table to look at it. She also wanders around this website.

Eight hidden paw prints

Mika left eight paw prints in this notebook. Find them, and she will give you an illustration to print.
