XIKNAL, the roseate spoonbill
Territory: Wetland corridor.
If you came here using the code on your card, you already have this Guardian at home: this is its page. Here are its cards, its story and the door to the game.
Sometimes the warning comes on wings.
A line from the deck.
This Guardian's world now goes with you: the next door you open will remember who you chose.
Its name
Why XIKNAL?
It comes from xik'nal, which in Yucatec Maya means “to fly with flapping wings.” It names the chocolatera, as the spoonbill is called in Tabasco, for what the bird does over the wetlands, and not only for its pink feathers.
Word root: Maya dictionary, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán.
Proposed by José Darwin Alejandro Hernández in the naming contest for the Wanha' Guardians. See the results

Three cards from the deck
How much do you know about this Guardian's world?
An encounter from the deck
“I bring people from far away just to see the spoonbill. I tell them: watch the pink. If they show up pale one year, something's wrong with the water. The bird warns me before any study does.”
Two challenges for this week

The story
The Missing Pink
Abril has to paint the most beautiful thing in the lagoon for the school mural, and she chooses the roseate spoonbills. But the real ones are no longer the pink everyone remembers. Should she paint them the way people remember them, or the way she saw them?
